    internet usage amount?

right, after winning an on going argument with pipex for 4 months, they have given me every penny i paid them back and they have given me a MAC code

so now i am going to go with BT "!!!

    but....

how much usage do i really need? all i ever do is browse the web and the forums (posting) and play online games BF2142 etc oh and i go on XBOX LIVE

would "package" one from BT with a 2gb monthly download limit be sufficient?

    thanks all

I would have thought you would need more than 2gb if you play online games....
seeing as you have already played 4 hours of battlefield 2 this week! I know counter strike uses around 10-15kb/s each direction for me when playing on most servers.

To be honest ive been keeping an eye on my useage ive only been playing Unreal Tournament and for say 2 hours gaming it does not seem to use that much really less than 200mg i would think BF2 may use more but i reckon if u got a 10gb allowance ud be more than fine, browsing the internet uses next to nothing

if you go over, BTYahoo will just tell you at the end of the month and give you a chance to upgrade or pay an extra £1 or whatever per GB you go over the next month.

not bad unless you go for the 40GB one and end up using 110GB!!! So I've ended up switching to Pipex, I hope I don't encounter the same problems as you!

aye, it seems that pipex in scotland are terrible however there customer support is the worst ! 45 mins on hold no matter what time of day you call.

good luck, my 2 pence would be to run while you have the chance

Pipex sigh once a great ISP now becoming more like Tiscali everyday, real shame i have very few issues but you look at the mess there system upgrades have become - reports of people being billed months after they left or not being billed at all, really looks to be a mess add to that the capping of just about everything to about 20k - i just dont think they can cope with the influx of new customers. That said my line is rock steady and pings are below 30
