Which usb wi-fi adaptor for linux & windows

I need a usb wi-fi adaptor that will be reliable for both win2k, xp, vista and various brands of linux. does anyone have any recommendations? does not have to be the cheapest but it needs to work!

What I want to is be able to switch the wi-fi stick between various puters running various os's.

The chipset is the critical factor - not all mfrs release the interface/programming commands for their chipsets (Texas Instruments are a notable example)

Mfrs generally release closed source drivers for Windows platforms - the difficult bit can be Linux. If it works with Linux, there will almost certainly be a windows driver - but you will need to check whether it is a 64 or 32 bit, XP or Vista compatable.
