Double post.. sorry.

Out of interest - why post ips with parts obscured if they're non-routable?
Maybe it's a default on the program?
I guess it's possible, I was just curious is all. I can understand masking public addresses but not class Cs
It is reassuring to me to know that I am a normal geek. This doesn't make my wife feel better about the amount of PC hardware floating around the house.
We currently have:
A fairly boring toshiba laptop
The main PC which is a core 2 duo, 9800gt, 2gb ram, 74GB raptor + 250GB.
Next to that we have another PC, fairly old athlon 3000 with a random ati card that I swapped for my old LC kit.
There is another similar PC in the boys bedroom but with a 6800 ultra graphics card.
I then have a "server" which is actually an old Dell PC. This is running as a domain controller + web server + SQL server + WSUS.
We just had the broadband upgraded to 50Mb, the engineer would normally stay and make sure you get your pc connected to the router they supply etc. He went away before I had got everything configured
My wife and I both have smart phones, and various friends bring devices round sometimes. We also have 2 neighbours attached to the wireless. Last time I checked my DHCP server had 20 leases running.
I would like to build a new box to use as my server, maybe run VMWare ESXi on it, but I need more money.
I've got an old Dell PIII acting as a sever (web server, dns, mail, active directory) running 2003 server, this is attached via ethernet cable to a 8 port switch which also has my main pc, a core2duo running vista attached to it via cable then the switch connects to the 4 port router which connects via wifi to my dads a64 running xp and my turion x2 laptop running the same OS.
The Netgear DG834GT router is running a 8128kbit Pipex ADSL connection. I use the server's DNS server for all DNS requests on the network including the wireless machines'.

My network is a little interesting. It may seem odd at first until you consider I plan to upgrade to Wireless Accesspoint to draft-N and all my computers are draft-N enabled.
Internet --> Be* Pro Internet Connection @ 18.2/2.4 Mbps --> Be*Thompson Supplied Wireless Access Point and 4 Point Router with WiFi disabled
Connected to this:
- One ZyXel PowerLine 80Mbps pair which goes into the Longue (for when I hook up the MacBook to watch movies/television on the big screen, as it is just out of range.
- Long network cable that goes upstairs to a Buffelo Wireless-G access-point and 4 point router.
Then connected to the Buffelo I have my server, which was one I just threw together for about £400 about a year ago. Very loud, and very annoying. Runs DNS, DHCP, a webserver, and backup utility, and well as other various bits and bobs for things that I want 99.9% uptime.
Finally, connected via the could is the following to the Buffelo:
- Mum and Dad's MacMini
- My iPhone (I think I may need to keep the buffelo active for when I get draft-n router so that I can keep this, and my friends happy, when they come over).
- My Computer <--
- My MacBook Pro (see below)
- Dad's Laptop that just seems to sit on the shelf and is never used.
- The guests who are staying with us' laptop.

That would explain it - thanks
