I would reccomend anything by linksys.
Do NOT buy anything from belkin, i have had problems with belkin usb/pci/pcmcia wireless adapters in the past, connecting to my encrypted network. (they didnt seem to like any time of encryption!)

thanks alot![]()
Netgear are a good make to look for.
I wouldn't recommend a wireless connection for a desktop connection though, it's usually slower than a wired connection, and they can be quite bad for gaming.. especially if the router/access point is in another room.
Depends on what router/access point you have really![]()
You would get better performance and stability from a PCI adapter dard rather than a USB wireless adapter.
I use, and can recommend NetGear.
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.
i was thinking about a card, then i decided on USB stick because it was simpler option...now im temepted by card again
Go for a card - they are much better, and also offer the possibility of a remote aerial to get a clearer signal.

Ive got a USrobotics usbwifi stick in my hand right now, and wouldnt recomned it!
- Works fine once you get the drivers sorted, but that took me about an hour on my desktop for uni, and mow im trying to get it work on a old (but XP) laptop, and so far no joy, worse drivers ever!
I would also recomend wired if its at all feasable.

i reckon i should be able to get it wired, take wire out of my mums PC which is in my room now and plug into my new PC, should that work?
thanks
As agent said, PCI is the way forwards
If you are insisting on getting a USB one, then Netgear would be my suggestion.
i dont mind really, got a few PCI slots free, so no reason why i cant use card. also like i said i could also use wired.
ill use wired then![]()
I would agree there.
... if you can you should ...
