Netgear WGT624v3 wireless router FW upgrade problem

I downloaded the latest released firmware from the Netgear website for my router (wgt624v3_2_0_16_1_0_1NA.chk) and each time I try uploading it to the router the FW upgrade fails with a "Firmware upgrade failed. Please check your file." error message.

When saving the firmware download from Netgear, Windows XP identifies the extension as a fragment file. Does anyone know whether the file extension .chk is valid for the firmware?

I don't think it is... the only .chk files i have ever come across are old check disk backup files.

That's the file you need, the NA version is for North America only.

Thanks for the input guys! It appears that I have downloaded the applicable firmware (NA version), however the router chokes on it and responds with the previously stated error message.

To make sure I didn't have corrupt file, I downloaded it at least 3 times from Netgear, and tried the upgrade connected directly to one of the routers switched ports. Any ideas or suggestions?

Contact NetGear Technical Support - they are actually pretty good, or so I have found on the 2 occasions I contacted them (well over a year ago now).
