    tiscali and bit torrent

    hi there i download alot of fansubs on bit torrent and i am currently am on UTV internet capped service here in northern ireland, however although i have a capped account which i set up to be cancelled if i reaced my monthly download limit i have received a heafty bill due to them no capping my downloads, so i am wanting to change isp and tiscali seem to have good deals but if i cannot download fansubs from bit torrent well with them i dont wana change advice anyone?

    Bittorrent is fine on Tiscali's 8mbs service, as long as you respect the time periods they specify. If you only run your client between midnight and midday you'll be fine, if you run it during the evening they'll send you nasty emails and then limit your speed.

    that should be fine as i leave utorrent running at home when i am at uni through the week and i can set it up only to run from midnight to midday, i live in the country too so i doubt band with is a big problem at my exchange, correct me if i have this totally wrong.

    If Bittorrent doesn't work you can try IRC. Most fansubs provide ultra-fast IRC XDCC bots to download from (no need to upload, and speed is usually 200K+/s which is probably faster than bittorrent)

    Check the contract length on offer. if its 12 months avoid like the plauge Tiscali are pretty awful from experience. Several peolle i know used them and one got booted off the network with no reason why untill he phoned them. Have a look at idnet or new net not sure how they compare on price (probably more expensive) but just flat out better ISP's

    hmm havent tried irc hread of it dunno how it works but may give it a go, i have a connectio n at uni but its pretty restricted thus the need for bit torrent. would irc work with it?

    im mainly lookin for a good isp package with phone calls included unlimited cap if poss and not a totally whack fair usuage policy.

    tiscali is £20 + line rental anyting compare?

    Also if you use utorrent you can encypt your uploads which give (me anyway on pipex) better speeds.

    tiscali is terrible...

    i have been with them since they were known as lineone, and they have really gone down hill....

    i am looking to change from tiscali because of bit torrent...
