    HELP!! cant get full internet speed on MR314

    Hello all, i need help! i have a netgear MR314 router, it has served me well over the years. However i just upgraded my connection to 10mbps on NTL, but i cant get any speeds past 2.5mbps (wireless) and 5mbps (hardwired), i tried linkiing the modem direct to my laptop and i got a full 10mbps speeds, so i know its not the isp or modem, ive tried all sorts of settings in my router but just cant solve the problem! please please can sum1 help remove my huge headache!!!! many thanks!

    its a intel pro/wireless 3945ABG, i have tested on other computers on network using an ma111 aswell but get the same result

    what speed is the wireless network running at?
    and what speed is the hardwired network running at?

    the wireless network is 11mbps and hardwired is 100mbps, trust me, there is sumin more complex behind it

    EDIT: Ignore me, didn't read post properly.

    BUT, the slow speed on wireless could easily be from the slow wireless connection, the slow wired is troublesome; dodgy connection/hardware sounds a possibility?

    wireless will always introduce more loss anyway but !!

    you are correct, the netgear MR314 operates on the 802.11b specification, which allows a maximum speed of 11Mb/s
