Why is this ? I usually chuckle when I let one off lol
Wonder what upsets them so much, maybe it's trapped wind or a sore belly

Imagine you're a baby, and EVERYTHING, bar nothing, is brand fire new.... you have a sore belly cos of trapped wind, and all of a sudden this tearing noise (and smell!) comes from your new little bum.... it would upset me if I didn't know what it was!

Capitalization is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack

Trapped wind is the main cause of pain with it, when a adult gets it they get discomfort it's a lot more painful for babies
Someone left a note on a piece of cake in the fridge that said, "Do not eat!". I ate the cake and left a note saying, "Yuck, who the hell eats paper ?
Liv just grins now n says Daddy I farted.
Charlie girl giggles and says "oops. pumped"
have they picked it up form somewhere? do YOU scream when your child farts?
source: my dad
Chimrod
Prob because they done it in the womb and know the kinds of smells that may come...
I think it's more that they scream from the trapped wind pain - then fart as it shifts. Unless the've got nappy rash !
Bit of a sweeping statement there as my lil' girl, my niece and nephew all laugh their arses off when they parp, lol, I think how your child responds to a fart is pretty exclusively based on how you react to it or the other significant person in its life.
When my lil' girl first farted, audibly, she gave me this look of utter bewilderment whilst I erupted with laughter, a few trowser trumpets later and she can be heard laughing it up even when shes on her own, lol
Brilliant topic though
I have found that Colic Calm really helps a lot. It makes the little uns pass the farts and poop easier.
i cry. i curl up into a ball, like a hedgehog everytime i fart. most people leave the room. thats how they deal with it
do kids really cry when they fart? I haven't seen one..all i know is that they won't admit they fart.
Like one of the other replies states, it is more to do with the unusual feeling/pain of the wind just before they fart that may cause them to scream. With babies they dont know how to "puch one out" so the pressure probably getq quite high in there before the inevitable prrrrrrp!
