    That's it no more......................

    lie in's for a while

now the missus is back at work doing these bloody continental 12hr night shifts means that i have our jack first thing sat/sun morning, but does he have a lay in for his old man? oh no up at the crack of dawn - last weekend it was 5.40am (yes twenty to bleedin 6 ) on a sunday morning. but when she's off during the week (she only works 2 nights a week on a funny rota - fri/sat or sat/sun or sun/mon and so on) unless it's a wednesday which is nursery day he'll lay in till 8ish - the other morning it was gone 9am when he woke up.

but now i'm gonna get even less, now another one is due in july. but she's already started the restless nights - it's the 'if i can't sleep then neither are you, or are you awake

so in summary no more sleep at home ever again, it's a three pronged attack. the only place i can get a kip is my half hour lunch break, but that is reserved for food - at least when jack's not about i can get my meal all to myself without someone hovering round me.

I feel your pain. Our little lass is just gone 2, and only started sleeping through a night last couple of weeks when we put her in a proper bed instead of the cot. She still gets up at preposterous hours though.. and it gets earlier and earlier as the mornings get brighter You have been warned!!

My first child was in routine by 8 months, bed at 9-9.30 up at 7, perfect! However second child is the biggest pain in the butt ever, 2.5 years old and still occasinally waking up in the night and trying to clamber into my bed! drives me insane, Makes things worse as i have to be up at 6 for work XD

    Your not alone my friend!

Our littlest is pretty good. She does wake up through the night, usually just has a little moan or grumble to herself then goes back to sleep. If she is really upset, you usually have to tell her to come through and snuggle in, she just sits on her bed if you don't.

Weekends are a bit different, she usually goes through to her brother or sisters room first instead of ours. Result!!

my lad will not get out of bed until he's told he can.

he's never been in our bed until wide awake.... proper morning time. Never once put him in our bed at night.

3 1/2 now. He's always slept through, since he was 9 months.... the lad's a sleep machine

but he did stand on my ball's last weekend, forever ending speculation of a brother/sister situtation.........

Ouch, I've managed to avoid this but I swear my daughter see's a land here sign on my nuts everytime she runs at me for a cuddle.

Our first was also fantastic with sleeping through the night but we are expecting our second and my wife is also having restless nights which end up with her waking me (also "are you awake" etc) then her falling back to sleep while I lie awake

    Re: That's it no more......................

First born didn't sleep through the night until he was three, just in time for the arrival of his little sister, who didn't sleep through until she was two. That was waking up three to four times a night. Five years without a solid nights sleep - no fun.

Five years later, next one arrives and sleeps like a log until six months, and he's now nearly two and only just starting to sleep through - for the worst bit (around six months) he was waking up 5 or 6 times a night.

And they all wake up early.

    Little blighters, god love 'em.

    Re: That's it no more......................

My son is 8, he is still in the early morning stage, no matter how early or late we get him to bed he will make sure that 6am is the start of the day on the Saturday and Sunday, as a baby he would sleep through no bother, now he's older it's about 4 - 6 hours kip and off he goes. If, however he is staying with his Grandparents over night he will stay asleep until 9am, so why can't he do that at home xD

Not a problem through the week though as I am up at 6am anyway and out the door for 6:45am to catch the train.

Those hoping they grow out of it, be prepared

So much solidarity, I'm going to hop in and say both of ours (unless unwell) have been good for 11-13 hours since 3 months old

They sleep like their old man
