was the 3rd thermalright cooler i had but the worst:-
    1) rubber fan mountings weren't long enough. no big deal but sloppy,
    2) the noctua can mount 2 fans in a push/pull configuration. The cost of adding a extra set of rubbers & wires would be peanuts but would add a lot more.
    3) In every review i read it out performed the zalman 9500
yet when i fitted the ultra was running 3200 at 65C on load

I've also settled on the Noctua cooler for my new build. Don't plan to have a window so not bothered by appearance though God knows who came up with the aesthetic for that thing. Apparently it runs nice and quiet whilst not skimping on the cooling. Anyone able to comment on noise from this thing?

Comments about the Noctua fans (noise can vary) can be found at forums at www.silentpcreview.com

Quiet as anything here. As for appearance, I think it looks fine I don't have a window so It wouldn't bother me. The thing that bothers me with a CPU cooler is the temperatures and the noise levels.

Currently not overclocking but will be very soon. E6600 @ stock with the Noctua - Idle @ 31C. Loaded @ 38C.
