Cables cables.
Sometimes you get the quality you pay extra for.
And sometimes, you don't.
I recently purchased some rounded cables from SCAN - I already had a Scan 3XS one, now I added an Akasa one and a Coolermaster one. All roughly the same price.
I expected the Akasa and Coolermaster, being branded, to be higher quality than the 3XS one.. and the Coolermaster one definitely is - lovely braided cable, fully EMI shielded -really looks like a quality piece of work. However, the Akasa one.. oh boy! There's no shielding, the rubber sleeve doesn't even cover the connector, and as soon as I pulled the 'pull here' tab, it just snapped off :angst: The 3XS one on the otherhand falls between the two - no fancy shielding, but at least it's solidly built.

Some really solid ones are LN11328, maybe too solid for some as they arent the most flexible. They do angled ones as well, or at least they did :)

Forgot to say, they're all IDE or floppy cables, ie rounded versions of ribbon cables. I've not had a problem with the sata cables - in fact from a cabling point of view I think I'm falling in love with SATA :p

In that case, there are some AC Ryan ones that are pretty strong and sturdy, I got mine from kustom a while back.
