    quite dvd drive

    recently purchased nec-nd7173 dvd drive unfortunely when you watch dvd's it like having a harrier jet next to you .is there suck a thing as i quite dvd drive cuase not heard/seen indiviual review's of noisless dvd drive.anyone know of any quite dvd drive's.

    None of them are very quiet. The quietest of all are the laptop drives, but as BUFF says above - that's because they are not spinning as fast. If you really want near-silence from an optical drive then the Pioneer DVR-K06 is as near as you'll get. It's only an 8x burner though, but it only makes a noise like running your fingers along a comb.
