I'm burdened with just 1440 * 900, do you think there is that much difference though?

The 22" monitors are so much more expensive than 19", heck I could get three (well, two and a half) for the same price.

Funkstar - I'm guessing you use a separate kb/mouse then?

i use both widescreen and a square one (dual screen funs).

handy for watching films in widescreen and stuff like red dwarf and the muppet shows on the square screen. wouldnt have it any other way now.

Yeah, I have a widescreen too. A 19" (1440 x 900) display. It took a while to get used to and was my first LCD screen (I'd been using a Dell 19" Trinitron previously until the tube started going).

One day, I might upgrade to 20" though...

I went with the cheapy Daewoo 19" WS and would never go back. Next Monitor will be a WS and the woman can have this.

And when your screenshots can look like this it's always a bonus

At home, 20" Dell Trinitron, at work 2xDell 2001FP. Next screen at home'll probably be a 22" WS, though.

Widescreener here too. Only 19" 1440x900 but it's a world apart from the 17" CRT I had a few months back.

The biggest advantage for me is being able to switch between apps so much easier. Can have them slightly overlapping but side by side.

Also great for web browsing with a couple of instant-message windows open on the side
