    Question Cooling help

    ok ive got aboout 5 fans in my case and im still having probs, i think, anyway i have a E6400 ( apparently allendale not conroe ) w an arctic freezer 7 prop on top of it w as5, now heres the problem, it idles at 45 but at max goes to 60 core, no higher, no lower no matter what i do, is this a bad thing?? btw if someone could tell me the difference between allendale and conroe cpus then

    All of the 6 series core2duos are conroes, the 6300 and 6400 just have 2mb of the cache disabled.

    The 4300 is a true allendale and is a slightly different architecture to the 6 series.

    is the as5 spread properly?

    i did redo the as5 and now its a range from 45-50 no more no less, the setup for the fans is, one 120mm mounted as 3 drive bays(mod!!)leading into one 92 mm wedged between the RAM leading into an arctic freezer 7 pro leading into a 120 mm outtake fan

    My mate has one that idles at 48 tops out at 60...E6600's seem to vary quite a bit.. I wouldn't worry too much about it..and if you do look into lapping it.

    i already laped it but only till 1500 grit

    bloody hell..sounds like u tried everything lol

    ...live with it wont hurt it at those temps.

    What are your case and ambient temps, they will give a good insight into problems or no problems.
