Comes with backplate and screws here's a photo of when I fitted mine, you can also place it in whatever direction you want. I decided to put it this way rather than the traditional facing the rear exahust fan:

^^ that's the Noctua?
Asus P5QL-E : Intel Q9550 : Noctua NH-U12P : DDR2 2 x 2048MB 1066 Corsair : Palit 9800GT 512Mb : Iiyama PLE2200WS-B : RME HDSP9632[a proper musician's card] : 2 x SATA 7200rpm 250GB : 1 x 7200rpm IDE 120GB : 1 x 7200rpm IDE 80GB : Iomega 34290 1TB eSATA storage : Pioneer DVR-216DBK : Antec TX1050 case : TAGAN TG700BZ PSU : MOTU MTPAV MIDI interface/time clock : Behringer BCR2000 : SONAR 7PE : Reason3 : ReFX Nexus : ReFX Vanguard : NI Battery3 : JP-8080 : D-50 : D-10
It is indeed Got loads of pics if you want me to post some? Its a monster!!
I'm thinking of getting the ThermalRight Ultra-120 but just checked the specs on their website and it might be an extremely tight fit for my Lian-Li PC6089B case, measured up my current mobo and there seems to 170mm clearance in terms of height with the Ultra-120 being 160.5, gonna check out the Noctua size wise to see if it would be a better fit.
It'll fit in most cases the NH-U12F. I have about an inch or two clearance from the top (side) of my case. Here's a compatibility list for motherboards - http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=c...nh_u12f&lng=en
Ah, Mr Mishima, if only you'd waited - the LGA-775 bolt-down kit is in stock now, and naturally, I upgraded my own 775 install.
On it's own - keeps my 3.4GHz E6400 running at 65C under 100% load...
Or make your own Arctic Freezer 12 Cooler...
The fanned version cuts 21 degrees off the load temperature - 44C under load whether it's directly mounted around the cooler or through the duct.
and one of the mounting kit...
worth every penny. It's significantly more secure than the push-pin fitment. I'd have posted pictures of it in the case, but my PC-A05A hasn't arrived yet

Looks very nice WJA I noticed that too, few days after I got my Noctua they got them in. Good bit of kit the bolt through!
Gibbo, looking at the comparison of the Scythe (that ships with the Rev B Ninja) and a Nexus fan, I would stick with the Scythe fan as it's quiet

You would still require a fan controller or Zalman Fanmate though.
I just bought a Noctua in my lunch break from Yoyotech £34.............

Yeah on a review of loads of fans on madshrimps (cant link - sorry ) they voted the Scythe 800rpm fan the best (cant remember if the model name was S-Flex or not) so the Ninja Rev B would be a good and quite quiet choice.
The fan supplied with the Ninja runs at 1200rpm at 12V, however most modern boards have some form of fan speed reduction built in to BIOS, and there's always speedfan.
Anyway, mine throttles back to 770 rpm - inaudible.
I also have the 800 rpm model - inaudible too.

Very impressed with the Noctua NHU-12F........
E6600 std speed 20C idle 28C under load..
The only problem I have encountered fitting it is finding enough space for the heatsink on my AsusEN7600GS512TOPHTDSILENT PCI-e card...I have the heatsink folded out to its max 120(ish) degree angle and it is touching the Noctua
I mounted the Noctua so that it blew towards the exhaust - it's the only logical way in my case but it would've fitted fine at 90degrees....
I hope the fact the 2 heatsinks are touching (not enough to cause either device to move) is not going to cause problems. The operating temps suggest not. so far

Can you not put some blutack/polystrene (spelling?) or bit of cardboard in between so they don't touch?
