Duo core 2 Standard Heatsink fallen

I sent my pc via courier to my brothers house however the heatsink has fallen off!!!! is there a proper guide to install the heatsink ? I followed the instructions and it seemed sturdy enough when i built it.

it was the standard e6300 heatsink on a asrock mobo ?

any way to make the heatsink secure ?

Did the heatsink come off by itself, or did the retention assembily come off with it?

If it was on properly, it must have had one hell of a knock.

Plastic lugs, turn them all anticlockwise, push the first one in, then turn it clockwise as far as itll go, then do the next 2 in the same way, and the last one will need a lot more pressure and it will usually click when its in place, once it clicks, turn it clockwise and the jobs a good un.

The above is assuming that you already cleaned the heatsink and reapplied thermal paste.

You might want to check if the heatsink has damaged the graphics card or the motherboard as well.

I have done placed teh Heatsink back on fully. However has anyone got a solution of keeping the heatsink on fully i dont want it falling off during transit again.

also is it wise to turn it back clockwise once locked in ? I thought when removing the heatsink u turn the pins clockwise.
