    A tough decision...

Whether to splash out now on an E4300 (£100ish) or wait for the E6320 (£120 maybe) sometime in Q2...

Anyone got any thoughts on relative performances, value, etc?

I'll probably also go for an Asus P5B of some sort and 2Gb of memory, cheap OCZ possibly.

E4300 and the P5B deluxe are a great choice.

You could wait for the 6320, but then something else would be looming and you would be back to square one.

Agreed, I was thikning the same, but I've also seen reports that the Exx20 will be H2 (read Q3/4) now and like you say something else would be coming along by then...

Besides Im getting fed up waiting for my gaming rig build... Its bad enough waiting for all the latest components to come into stock!

I have an e6300 and I keep wanting to upgrade, but the fact of the matter is it's an incredible processor and it will probably outlive the rest of the computer :/

I'm thinking of getting an E4300 now and saving for something much more powerful later, like a C2Q maybe.

May as well, the quads are supposed to be coming down in price soon and a 4300 should see you right till then.

    E4300 and a P5B is recommended here

Was thinking about whether to get a C2Q as Clunk said but it will take a while for software to be available to utilise all 4 cores so went for a C2D

P5B Deluxe, E4300, 2GB OCZ and an AC Freezer Pro7 and X2 all arrived yesterday and booted perfectly, first time at 12.30 last night.

More the freakish DNA spliced evolution of an old one Or at least that's what it looked like as I was pulling out the last of the old water cooling kit!
