Linux (and other unicies) has a nice priority range from -20 to +19, with minus being higher, 0 being normal and positive being lower priority, and only root/admin/kernel can spawn processes with a negative priority, which is very useful and adds to the resilience of the OS as a whole.

Might just be some after-market kernel changes and patch rollups.

Indeed (I'm vista full time now except for c&c generals which refuses to work in vista for some obscure very random reason).

What do you think of the set up for the lass?

Try running C&C under XP Compatibility mode AND under Administrator(right click, properties, compatability).

Hey, i'd go out with you if you were gunna buy me that! Although, to get me in the sack it would have to be a Core 2 Duo...

In the for sale section someone is selling 2x512mb pc6400 ddr2 ram... would this be better than the 1gb of micron major?

    http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=100708

I'm thinking yes, but when it comes to upgrade then I'll have to stick with the ocz to keep the speed up won't I?

If it is dual channel and under £50 then it's worth it, unfortunatly i can't enter that page... for some reason.

Ah, they're sold, a bit too late. They were £55, looked a nice deal, but I suppose I don't need to worry about choosing now
