M$'s wireless optical desktop is what i use, excellent value and the usual top M$ quality

you wont find a better wireless KB out there, its easy to use and has a great range

the mouse is only average tho - logitechs wireless one is better so i would say get a wireless M$ KB and the logictech MX700

that said the M$ mouse works great for me, i never used the side buttons on my old mouse anyway.

Battery life is ace too, my mouse lasts about 1month of heavy use, and the kb about 2 (tho this depends on the batteries used)

As for why you would want one? no cables makes it easy to hide them if you have a 'stealthed' pc, and you can pick them up and walk about with them. eg i often use mine from my bed - 6ft from my pc. works great for stopping and playing DvD's etc, or for chattin on msn when u feel lazy (tho you need to turn down your resolution or you cant read the screen ;P )

    hope this helps

(btw its ~£40 from dabs (OEM))
