Vista driver problems
I'm having trouble getting my Siemens Gigaset 108 to work with Vista (can get the thing installed somewhat but doesnt connect to networks) so was wondering if I install XP first and get everything working and then do Vista upgrade (I got the full retail copy) will it screw with the drivers and make the wireless stick not work again or should it just work out ok? Hope so :undecided

Nah don't do an upgrade, they cause problems, it's best to dual boot.
My Belkin stick wouldn't work when i installed Vista, D/L the new drivers if there is any out, and install them, should work.

unfortunately siemens hasn't put any new drivers out for vista so dunno :(

Hmm... Give it some time.

get the atheros drivers for vista? atheros make the chipset for that USB adapter. By the way, how are you getting on with it? I found that mine caused my computer to BSOD under heavy transfer speeds!

Hell tim I haven't even got the thing installed im currently trying to setup the pc in XP first then seeing if I can put vista over it so it keeps everything intact but for some reason the stick isnt working in XP either it doesnt want to connect to my WPA network sigh.. I think im missing the wireless zero config service (i accidentially set it to disabled when i made a custom xp cd with nlite and now its not in the services list to disable! ARGH)

Okay well, i've had a lot of trouble with wireless adapters so i'll see if i can help...
are you putting Vista on your system by itself? Cos if so, you could try to get it to work straight away in vista. I'd use someone else's computer, download the vista drivers from atheros, put them on a memory stick and install them after you have Vista finished, by using the add hardware wizard and directing the search to the memory stick.
Wireless adapters never work particularly easily so give it a chance and don't get het up, there's a solution

Thanks downloading the atheros drivers now.. gonna give it a go..

Ok those drivers I have dont seem to go with my device. The chipset the stick is using is the AR5523 but I can't seem to source any vista drivers
