Speaking from personal experience, Dell are fine to buy from.

I bought an Inspiron 6400 (same case as one of the XPS, minus the logos) and its been brilliant. The one great advantage of buying the XPS labelled version is you get 24x7 support from Ireland - so you won't have to deal with India (one of the bugbears of customer support with many companies).

I've only had one problem with my dell, and that was faulty memory, which they sent out replacements for. It did, however, take some moaning on the phone to get them to do it

Yup, you get the better end of the deal with the XPS systems. You do, however, pay a premium to get it

Rock are ok..they have their problems like any do.

Check out www.zepto.com I guess they are a bit risky but pc pro rate them quite highly and you get a lot of laptop for that kind of money.

Ah ok..you were talkin 6800 ultra's before lol.

So you are looking at what..a rock ctx pro?

you'll want to take a look at the following

    Rock CTX Pro
    Dell XPS M1710
    Alienware m9700 (dual 7900gs)

all expensive...best case will be about £1500 probably

Yep I wouldn't buy a 17"+ laptop. Defeats the object for me.

Unless it truely is replacing your desktop I would get a smaller one.

14" widescreen is a great laptop size.
