    System chassis...again

I know this has probably been done to death, but I could do with a couple of pointers here - confusion has taken hold!

I posted a similar note on this form a few days back and had some fantastic responses. Your suggestions have really struck home, and I have a couple of final "asks" before I take the plunge a buy a new case:

    1) Is the Akasa mirage 62 a touch better looking now with the revised front panel ?

    2) Would an 8800 GTX or ATI equivalent size-wise fit into an Akasa mirage 62?

    3) Similarly, would an 8800 GTX fit into an Antec p180?

    4) Would a corsair 620w PSU fit into an Antec p180?

    and finally...

    3) If you had the choice, would you go for an Akasa 62; a Coolermaster Stacker 832; a P180; or a Temjin TJ05?

    Thanks again guys.

1 - It is a matter of taste which do YOU like the best? but many people think the Mirage looks nocer thand the Eclipse, otherwise they are virtuallly identical

    2 - Yes

3 - Yes - and I believe in a previous post I posted a link to pictures of mine that show clearly this and prove it to be so (but if it was to another similar post and not yours, I can do so for you).

4 - Yes I have a Seasonic, but Corsair PSUs are made by Seasonic.

and finally 3 (really 5?) - I had a similar shortlist (not the Coolermaster), I finally (after months of investigation and wavering) chose the Antec P180 - and have not regretted it, I would make the same choice again.
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.

    1) No, the mirage is uglier, it looks like a 1980's fileserver.
    2) Yes, with buckets of room to spare
    3) Depends, you'd probably need to remove the HDD cage in the upper compartment and stick the hard drives below.
    4) Should do
    5) Akasa Eclipse 62

    3) Not a fan of the p180s layout, but aidanjt seems to have the idea
    4) Yes, might stretch the cables a bit though

Based on costs I would go for P180 or Eclipse.

I don't like the look of the Stacker or the TJ05.

BTW I have an Eclipse and a P180.

I don't understand why people want to pay over £150 for the Stacker? I got the Eclipse for around £57 from Tekheads when The Overclocking Store closed. The P180 came from ebuyer whilst on special - only thing I regret is not waiting a bit for the black version.

I have a P180 and it is an amazing case if you can get all your cables to reach to the right places.

Luckily I have a NeoHE so I haven't had any problems with the cables not fitting due to the fan size.

1 Problem I rescently encountered though was the side of my case was locked onto my case, I had to force it off and broke 2 of the plastic securer things on the lower section of the left panel. I'm not sure if it still securely fits on as I haven't had time to put it back on (My 6800GT was dying and had to take it out, haven't replaced it properly and felt there is no need to put the case side back on until it's replace properly).

Anyone know where I can get a replacement side for a silver Antec P180?

Scan doesn't seem to sell them >:c

    Yes, contact Antec.

They will ask for a copy of your invoice (via email).

I managed to break the tabs and got a replacement side panel. I used the large head thumb screw to attach the lower HD section instead of the small head screw and the panel jammed.

With my sonata when things broke they sent out a free replacement

I've got a P180 now (second revision, without the vga cooler plastic crap, and a couple of other tweaks) and I love it. The main problem is it's so heavy and I have to carry it to LAN parties. Other than that; faultless.

The original T01 stacker is still the best as far as I'm concerned.

That might of been what happened to mine.

It just wouldn't come off and the bottom 2 plastic bits just broke off when eventually got it off with a bit of force.

What sort of price is it for them, or is it free for the replacement?

Completely free. I read somewhere that the clips break and because of this Antec replace the side panels.

One guy on another forum had managed to get 2 side panels and a front door to turn his silver case in to a black case.

    lol!

I quite like it silver actually, just noticed that side pannel has a few tarnishes on it.
I realised that 2 cheap side pannels have been resting on it and the metal clips have rubbed off some of the finish, oh well :3
