    XP Only detecting 2.5GB RAM?

    Hello peoples,

I've recently upgraded my rig to 3GB of RAM, booted up first time real easy install, but Windows XP Pro is only recognizing 2.5GB of my RAM

Is there an easy solution? I was under the impression XP could cope with 4GB...

    Thanks.

Due to the fact that XP is on a 32bit architecture yes, 4GB is max the total.

There may be a problem with your RAM, what does it display as in POST?

Have a read of my post in there.
Still, that is a fairly big drop, but its hardware dependant.
