22" Widescreen monitor - which one?

Well, there's a nice price range, and I can't make up my mind. I want to go after a samsung in a way, but they're more expensive at around £270 (on ebuyer) .

eBuyer also have a xerox 22" for £223 though, xerox is a better make than generic inc. but can't find any reviews on it.

    (xerox: http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/124980)

    (samsung: http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/118106)

As for scan who I normally shop with, I thought the 22" Mirai at £211 wasn't bad, but tbh I've not heard of Mirai before, and although they have some reviews, they all basically say 'nice monitor, but the pricier ones (Dell and Iiyama) are much better.

Speaking of which, the Iiyama on scan is £257... Which one, which one?

I just don't know. I want to keep the cost down, but in real terms of money I have just extended my interest free overdraft to £1750 so can afford better ones, but don't fancy paying the Dell premium . I really fancy the samsung, had one for about a week and before it broke it was gorgeous.

Atm though if I can get good feedback on the xerox that is the front runner. (There is also a daewoo at the bottom end but I assumed that it's not going to be as good as the Mirai, I could be wrong?)

edit: Ok sod the xerox, I don't think it's got DVI, which is an absolute must.

further edit: some people are saying that 20" are better, because they still have the 1680 x 1050 resolution. Now I'm all perplexed. I have about two weeks to think about it though, ordering it with my girlfriend's computer. (she's inheriting the 19" ws off me)

20" vs 22" is the same scenario as 17" vs 19". Both have the same number of pixels on the screen, so obviously the larger of the 2 will look less crisp. I saw a really good review for the Belinea 102035w which you can buy here http://www.tekheads.co.uk/s/product?product=605307

    I'm in the same boat - I want a 22" monitor.

Tried a Samsung 20" and IMO the text is a bit small.

Dell have the 22" monitor for £247, with Quido cashback (4.5%) that makes it around £235.

I'm tempted to get the Dell.

Another option is the Daewoo 22" from Scan - just under £200.

One of the guys here at my LAN has one, was looking at it, looks really nice. *thinks* It's a bit on the pricer end at £270 though...

Im in the same boat, looking for a 20" inch model and was looking at these 2:

    Samsung SM206BW
    LG L203WT

The Samsung one comes in a 22" version not sure about the LG though and they're both HDCP compatible, a little future proofing.

you should read plenty of reviews I'm sure there will be a clear winner...

depends if you prefer to read in the dark and need something with good black or if you play games all the time..

You don't see 10/10 very often....I'll be watching out for more reviews on that BenQ screen, and if they're just as good I might be tempted to replace my 21" CRT

My current monitor (2007wfp) is my first dell lcd screen and its great..good warranty too.

If mine is anything to go by I would deffinatly get the 22" Dell.

To the OP - I think the new Samsung 226BWs are under £250 on Overclockers, not quite released yet, but if you're willing to wait a week, it's a great price.

My post is to the OP also, my Samsung 205BW had a problem as soon as I bought it and I had to take it back to PC World for a refund.

Just ask yourself, if you have a problem and have to return it to Overclockers (within the first 30 days).... Samsung will only deal with the monitor after the 30 days.

I think that one won this months PC Pro Labs of 24" monitors, beat the Dell 24" screen.
