Mouse Mats

OK it's a little different than the usual thread, but I need a new mousemat, and I fancied getting a decent one this time.

Size: Max of 400x300 but preferably smaller.

Usage: I use Visio a fair bit, Paint Shop Pro, RPG games (MMO or otherwise) plus normal windows and office use.

Looks: Black is good and tasteful a must.

I've had a Ratpadz GS for a couple of years now. Top surface.

Depends what mouse you use, basic optical or ball mouse, get a Ratpadz, high end optical/laser get an Icemat v1 or 2.

I've got the IceMat, and its been awesome with my MX1000

The Icemat 2 is ok, but not very good value for money.

Nip to your nearest Tesco's and they sell black marble/granite placemats for a couple of quid and they are excellent.

If you are feeling really cheap, have a look at the value chopping boards I think that is Zak33's idea

Does anyone not use a mousemat? I tried not using one for a while, but it wasn't doing my desk much good, and I definitely didn't have the same control.

I have one that I tend not to use, as it eats through teflon mice feet and makes a slight 'scratching' sound when you use it - I guess this is due to the make up of the slightly 'course' glass surface.

i cannot fathom why anyone wold use anything but an everglide monstermatt cloth?

it will NEVER wear the feetaway, and its perfectly smooth..

why would i want a matt that wears my mouse out??

I have the same combo, and the feet have been replaced 4 times now in a year, i must be heavy handed in my WoW'ing
