    Ram question

Ive got a Athlon +1800 based system, with a Nf7-s2 motherboard, and 2*256mb pc3200 corsair value ram, and im thinking of upgrading it to 1024mb, because with a stack load of programs running on both moniters (inc opera/winamp/msn8) when i fire up solidedge/unigraphics/autocad it all laggggggs all over the place.

If the Nf7 had four slots, i would just get another pair of the same and whack that in. But as it doesnt, im less sure what to do.
    - Obvously i could just get 1*512 and cram that in?
    - But i have a feeling that it would be better/neater/somthing to stick the 2*256's on ebay, and get a pair of matching 512s?

Does it really make much diffrence?
    - Im not over clocking anything, and dont really do any gaming. Running winXPpro.

if you're short on funds, sell the 2*256's and get a dual 512 kit. Otherwise, the performance hit from running 1Gib across 3 sticks against 2 is somewhat marginal.

So would i actaully wind up spending less if i sold the two 256's and got two new 1gb's ?
    - How much would/should i get for the 256's on here or ebay?
