This is just going by scan prices

but for £100 i wouldnt bother with the 5.1 sets

this 2.1 altec lansing is £92, just about on budget

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=112146

i wouldnt bother with creative in the 2.1 land

I would say the altecs are if u want a 2.1.

I would day a better option would be to find your local richer sounds and ask them to do the best deal on a set of hifi speakers and an amp for £100. they are usually really reasonable and will knock the prices down to help u out. a mate got a decent cambridge audio amp & some really wharfdale speakers for just over £100. they beat any computer speakers hands down (as long as u don't mind not having' a sub) bit extra hassle but well worth it

I have your first choice, the Altec Lansing Black MX5021 Hi End 2.1Ch THX Speaker System. They are, IMHO the best speakers available at that proce point. Ther do not have a digital input.

If you get them, and you like quality audio, then you will not be disappointed.

They are no match for the Monitor Audio speakers I have on my hifi, but then again thay were £600 a pair....
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.

My choice, absolutely brilliant speakers, chrystal clear, and ****ing ear poppingly loud if you want em to be.

Couple them with a sound card capable of pushing DTS:Connect and you're in high-fidelity heaven! I know I am.

Suppose il have to get a camera aswell then Il borrow the lasses and get some snaps of my set up on here.

richer currently have a sony 5.1 5x50w amp on sale for 120 which is what i got and let me tell you, its bloody cracking.

Got some tannoy mercury f1 customs which also sound very nice. They have a flat bass cone which seems to make the bass real nice and acurate almost like studio monitors. Frequency range is (55-20) isnt quite as good as the Altecs as i have no sub but i was thinking of putting my logitech one through it somehow for the time being which will fill out the lower ends quite nicely.

If you went for a cheaper 6 ohm stereo amp and some cheaper 6ohm speakers you cud get a kit for just over £100

DONT get the mission m2ss as the screws holding the cones in come loose from the plastic and u loose the ability to play it at any substantial volume.

Below are links to an alright £100(ish) system. Once u add the cables etc it does bump it up but u can always try and get them to throw it in for free
