advanced northbridge cooling?

hs anyone heard of an advnce form of northbridge cooling? like a heatsynch itha fan or a ....watrblock?

I use a DangerDen Z-Chipset block on my northbridge. Works very well, and keeps things very quiet.

Bit-tech.net did a review of two northbridge coolers, recently. Have a look there.

Southbridges, in most cases, need little to no cooling (unlike the cpu and northbridge). More often than not, good airflow in the case is plent of cooling, however if airflow is limited in your case (in that you're going for silence), epoxying a small heatsink (an old northbridge one, perhaps?) to the chip would help. Make sure that at least a little airflow is going over the hs, though.

So to answer your question, advanced southbridge cooling isn't really required with todays motherboards. However, modders and enthusiasts might build something regardless of this. At the moment, though, no products that I know of are available.

I personally just used the Zalman passive northbridge coolers on my southbridge. Watch out though if you're using a big video card, because then you may have issues getting it to fit.

normally one doesent need advanced southbridge cooling however i noticed when i put a heatsync on it it crashed less i ran the comp at full load one time till it crashed and immediatelt touched the hearsync and almost burned myself That's why i need good cooling!!
( im overclocking 200mhz over the fasest recorded on overclockers.com) barton 2800 oced to 2.57 running at 9ºc i need 3 more chipset coolers (AGP, FSB and DPS (dual power source)) now all i need is a southbridge cooling solution and ill be set!!

If you run a nForce2 and overclock over 200FSB you should seriously consider cooling the southbridge as it has been proven it can cause sound distortian and limit the overclock quite a bit. All thats needed is a passive heatsink but quite large (old NB sink works quite well as mentioned earlier

) and a bit of frag tap

Yea Southbridge cooling on a nForce mobo defo helps, as suggested a Zalman passive will do the job nicly
