    Hardware Malfunction...

I've just bought a wireless kit, I've had teething problems with it but I've finally got it sorted, except for one issue. My PC will stall completely or bluescreen with the error message 'Hardware malfunction...'

I'm certain its the wireless PCI card, but I'm not up to taking it back to Scan... So, any ideas, please? Haha.

    ---

Also, I can't format my HDD. Although the PC boots fine and everything about the HDD is fine, when I come to format it, Windows does not recognise that there is a HDD there, any help on that issue as well, please?

Just a long shot about the HDD problem.

If you're using a SATA do you need to install custom drivers for it at all?
Like the ones you have to put on a floppy and boot with or something, I forget how I did it exactly but I know it was a right annoying thing to do since I didn't have a floppy drive at the time.

And what doy ou mean by a "wireless kit" I mean, is it just a card you sit in your motherboard? If it is, try taking out and tell us if your PC runs fine then

The random restarts and 'Hardware Malfunctions' did indeed start when the PCI card was fitted, we tried the drivers that came with the card and the latest drivers from the Buffalo site but to no avail - any ideas?

EDIT: Just had an idea, any chance the power needed to run the wireless card has pushed the PSU over the edge?

So, how do you go about 'checking' it to make sure it doesn't?

Just check the power levels and the transmit power etc... but i doubt this one would suck alot of power.
