Just met up with an old friend again.
I used to use OCCT with my Amd rigs. Was terrific for quickly screening the stability of an OC, taking only 30minutes (or less if failed ) compared 2 many hours orthos/prime. Also produced a prize of sexy temp & voltage charts if test passed.

Well now we can use it with c2d rigs OCCT Perestroïka 1.1.0

Nice addition new btaOCCT PT 1.1.1.b01 : Core temp support (make sure it is running before selecting it in OCCT)

It supports mbm as is but sadly i can't get key voltages to run. Have asked/pleaded nay grovelled asking if asus probe support can be added, it was available on eralier versions, so ther's hope. If any1's interested & a member over there be nice if u added an ask.

it would be nice to seehow vcore holds up something like

From my old dfi board, 3.3v,5v,12v, vdimm & all would be great imo.(now that's a no droop rock solid vcore)

I don't see Asus Probe coming in the near future

Can you add support for the monitoring application "X" ?

In order to add support for another monitoring app, i have 2 requirements

* This app has to be able to run on my own computer (I own a gigabyte motherboard, so exit Asus Probe and others for now )
* It needs to have a "Shared memory" feature, or anything to access the values from outside the application. Without it, it's still doable, but much much much harder, and especially not as reliable ( one update and support might be gone )

As of now, i have no means of getting test hardware, especially motherboard. I even created OCCT on a Single-core CPU ! So as of now, i'm kind of stuck Maybe later. If the software you want support for fills the 2 requirements above, send me a mail to iench at ocbase dot com, i'll see what i can do

There's however a problem with those softwares that doesn't provide a shared memory : i have to scan the whole window, getting all the strings out of it, and then select the right ones and make them into OCCT.

Asus probe support was relly really tricky. in fact, with Asus probe, those strings i'm reading does not exist until they are displayed once. That is : when you start Asus probe and the gui doesn't display the temps, i'll never read them. But as soon as they're displayed once, by click on a "monitoring" button for instance, i can read the value. what that means is i have to generate clicks so that those values can be read. And this is really tricky...

Core temp was really easy. The GUI is simple enough, they do have specific classes for their components, and as soon as the thing starts, you can get the values : perfect for OCCT support.

Plus, i don't think the GUI will change soon... it looks pretty monolithic as is.

Asus probe is another matter

Now that i do have an Asus motherboard, i can look into it (yes, being able to run the program *is* a prerequisite ). But i can't promise you anything. If there's a shared memoryof some sort, i can assure you i will support it. Without, it's a "let me have a look" at best

I just heard about systool, whch provides a shared memory. i'll try to support it

in direct reply to my plea so i'm keeping everything crossed.

I have to update my FAQ. At that time i didn't want to go through the "interface scanning" part of programs that did not provide a shared memory.

Core temp support was so easy to do (frankly : 3 hours of work) i'm willing to give Asus probe a shot

Plus, i can now run Asus probe (i recently bought a P5N-E SLI), so i might as well take a look into it and see what can be done...

The major drawback in supporting software this way is i may have to recode everything if they change the GUI...

But well, i will give it a shot

I do think 1.1.1 will mainly add monitoring software support... maybe sound when the test fails, and perhaps a graph scale revamp...
