I hate Gigabyte boards and its posts like this and re-affirm my resolve to never own another one.
Hopefully a future BIOS update will resolve the issue for you.

Well I've sent the RAM back anyway. This is my first gigabyte board and it'll probably be my last. It's a bit dodgey QC wise and new bios updates seem to **** things up.

Gigabyte boards seem to be very popular the DS3 especially. Can there really be an issue with 4Gb not fully supported? Any other examples of this issue?
2gb sticks are starting to trickle onto the scene now anyway, so if you're aiming for 4gb, then that would be the better way to go. Kingston have some for sale somewhere or other (spied them earlier today, but can't remember where).
Bit early for most to jump on the 4gbs, but it will be the norm us enthusiasts in no time at all. Stupid bloated software

Recently had a memory headache on my new build. Striker Extreme with 2 x 1GB Corsair Dominator C4's. Random memory problems, although 1 of the sticks worked in slot 4 only. Bought another 2 x 1GB sticks. Even less reliable than the first lot.
Tested all four in my media PC (why I didn't do this with the first 2 I dont know). No problems whatsoever. Advance replacement mobo arrived from scan this morning and all looks fine and dandy...
So as there's nothing wrong with the ram, I've ended up on the 4gig "bandwagon" unintentionally !
i always regarded gigabyte to be fairly good.
Can somene tell me if there is actually any manufacturers existing that are overall decent
ABit have always been okay for me. Never had any issues whatsoever.
My motherboard was purchased from Microdirect before Christmas. Any returns process would take a fair while at the moment and it's time which I simply do not have.
