Price of RAM - worth stocking up now?

Im sure you've realised the price of RAM has fallen a lot over the past couple of months. (something to do with Samsung and their cartel) They seems to be back to last year's price when prices rocketed (just when I was considering 2gigs )
Since then I have bought a pair of 512mb so my system is running 4 x 512mb. I woul dhave preferred 2 x 1gb.... but now I am planning to update my 900mhz machine and having got a few parts together all thats needed is the RAM.

Im not sure if I should buy some now (2 x 1gb) DDR or if I should wait a little and split my 4x512mb??

What do you reckon? I read somewhere that the prices may increase in the second qtr.

I reckon you could get away with waiting a bit longer. I dont see/know of any massive introductions into hardware until after april (could be longer, please correct me if I am wrong!) So if you can manage (like I did :x) wait a bit.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Only buy what you can currently use (and only if you need it). No point in stocking up DDR, as DDR2 is mainstream now. Little point in stocking up on DDR2 either, as DDR3 is next year's toy.

Perhaps worth it only if you've a few systems to build in the near future. Other than that, prices are likely to fall in the longer-term (in 2-3yrs 4gb will cost what 2gb does now, and then further so will 8gb, 16gb, etc), and as said above, the goal-posts are constantly moving.

    Thanks for the replies.

I do need ram but Im holding out for the right time to get myself a pair of 2gb (2x1gb)

I've read that the price of DDR will stabilise or even increae as the factories are shifting their process to DDR2 and soon DDR3 thus as demand and supply goes prices may even go up
I think I'll give it another month or so and keep my eye out on these pages
