    P5B USB issue

New P5B deleuxe WI/Fi fitted on the 7th.
Issue: Whilst my usb mouse and keyboard are recognised and functioning any Flash drives (tried 3) usb Joystick Saitek do not function. IE windows does not see acknowledge etc.
    So far
I have uninstalled USB Root PCI rebooted and reinstalled to no effect, checked bios, updated bios to 0904, checked usb flash drives on another PC no problem they work, installed USB bracket and tried both on-board USB connectors, still no go. Now I have run out of idea's.

    Any suggestions?

Yep latest inf files etc. WinXP SP2 fully updated.
Just nipped next door to my neigbour, as I built him an Abit based Conroe system, checked the deicies on his and again no problem.
Pi**ing me off now as I had an AW9D Max with no issues but everybody was raving about this board so though I would give it a shot.
Taken me a couple of days to get it stable on my Corsair ram with the correct timings, aw well at least it is stable.

I havent had any problems like this with mine, I have a usb mouse and keyboard and the flash drive/card reader works fine.

Can you do a screenie of your usb stuff in device manager, and also of your IRQs?

The usb stuff looks ok, if you can do a screenie of the irqs, from where Steve said, that will help.

Have you got a ps2 mouse and keyboard that you can try for a sec? If you use those and then plug in the usb stick, does it see it?

Can you try enabling factory defaults in the bios and seeing if it works? Also, try a cmos clear, could be something as simple as that.

But lets see the irqs first

Thanks M8. I have tried again with the 3 flash drives on 2 other PC's and they are dead.

The only thing I have done recently with them is plug into this P5B and its the only thing I can point the finger at.

    So back to my AW9D.

Yep. clunk the only thing thst has changed is me swapping the mobo from the Abit t the Asus. The drives were working the day before I installed the new mobo.
I will give the reinstall a shot.

Yep complete fresh install. Didnt come to use the flash drives till yesterday on this mobo when I came across this problem.

Mobo was installed on the 7th, on the 6th with the Abit still in place the usb drives worked fine. Fortunately I had cleared all the data on both so there is nothing critical on all 3.
    Dunno its a real mystery.
