i have a 250w power supply and i need a 400w or 500w to get a geforce 8800 video card but i cant find any place online that sells them except the "ULTRA-QUIET DELL PSU: SILENCER® 410 DELL-2" and i dont even know if thats the right thing to get.....so can some one help me?
why don't you get a normal power supply?

Dell are a pain in the arse like that, they dont allow the user to do their own upgrades.

I haven't got a clue, contact Dell and ask if you can buy one from them, or if that power supply is right... I don't deal with Dell for the very reason that they try to monopolise.
What kind of dell do you have? is it an inspiron or a optiplex and what model number is it?Quote:

Just drill the holes for the new PSU, easy enough. :)
Check the pinout of the original PSU if you're doing this, not sure if it's still the case but there was a time that Dell PSU's had standard 20 pin ATX connectors but with a non standard pin configuration.Quote:
