An E6300 is better, there was a review in this month's CustomPC magazine of the E4300 and they suggested that the £10 difference is not really worth it.
Just shows that CustomPC are writing for the general population, and not for the enthusiast sector
E4300 is easier to overclock (you'll get further on cheaper RAM) so that would be my suggestion
Otherwise, if you are really on a budget, an AM2 3800+ and a board with inbuilt 6150 graphics could be an option.
A lot of E4300s can just be set to 333 FSB and they run at 3GHz without changing anything else.
Makes their £100 price tag a lot more appealing and you only need DDR667.

To the OP, yep, need more information. The Pentium D 805 is a great budget chip for the price.
