    Question HyperThreading Confusion??

I have a P4 2.8 533bus. I havent seen anywhere in BIOS that its HT capable. To be Honest I wouldnt know what I was looking for anyway lol. However, On the 3Dmark03 test, under the CPU details it says:

    HyperThreading: Avaliable - Disabled.

Now does this Mean I have HT?? or is it just a **** up?
And also, in TMPGENc, under the mpeg tools, it allows me to select options that would only be avalible with a HT processor...

I ave pics to show the 3Dmark and TMP descriptions...

    Some help?

The only 533fsb Ht is available on is the 3.06 as far as I know. However all 800fsb P4’s support HT.

It probably means that your BIOS supports it, but it is disabled as your processor doesn't (BIOS doesn't always say anything about it anyway).

Didn't some of the 533 P4's come with hyperthreading, but it was disabled by intel? Could that be what 3dmark is detecting? Or am I just losing my mind....again.....

If memory serves me, all B's had HT, but hardware disabled.

I think a few 2.8's were released with HT enabled, just before the C's came out, but these were only a small amount.

It sounds like its checking your Mobo/BIOS and can detect that HT is supported, but not being used.
