    PC8500 and mobo compatibility

    hello,

Could anyone tell me whether these motherboards are compatible, and capable of running at full speed, with 2 or 4 GB of Corsair Dominator PC28500 Dominator (1066mhz? ) at 5-5-5-12 timings with EPP:

    Asus Commando:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=526999

    Asus P5B Deluxe:

    Asus P5B-E plus Vista edition:

    Thanks in advance!

It'll work with all of those, only the Commando will probably kill the ram, and then kill itself, after whistling you to death.

    :O

I've heard about some problems with the commando buzzing, but I never new it was that bad!

On scan it shows the mother boards only support DDR2 553, 667, and 800. Does this mean it won't support the 1066?

My Commando ran just fine from first boot with Corsair Dominator PC8500 and has not - so far, killed anything.
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.

Not offically, the northbridges weren't designed to go full brunt 533Mhz+ memory bus clock, but with sufficient cooling they *could* go that high

    hello,

    Thanks for the help guys.

So would I have to do any overclocking at all for the mobo to run the RAM at full speed, or will it automatically detect the higher speeds and 're-clock' itself?

I'm sorry, I think I've confused myself and you guys.

What do you mean by RAM ratios?

What I meant to say was, would I have to change anything to get the mobo to run the RAM at full speed, or will it al be automatic?
