    Question Shuttle SB62G2

I have lots of fun using my shuttle SB62G2 in SATA RAID mode.
Just wanted to do a simple audio recording, to my surprise I couldn't find a "line in" socket. Anybody any idea how to record analog sound??

Have u tried the line in on the front of the case, the rear ports are for surround only afaik (well was on my ex SN45G).

I know because I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to get the analogue sound on from my tv card into the shuttle via rear ports, I just looped a cable to the front port instead.

One of the back audio ports can be used as a line in. Blue I believe. This not officially supported so I hear, but with some cleaver tweaking, it is quite possible.

There is some information on how to do this on the SFFTECH Forums.

Rabs, unfortunately the SB62G2 does not have a "line in" on the front.
Rexticle, I found something similar you suggest, on a review site. It stated that the blue socket's function at the rear changes with the configuration (2, 4 or 5.1speaker) u choose in control panel. Tried it, no luck so far. But thanks for the reply.
Very strange that there is no separate line in. I think there might be an input on the FB62 motherboard. Think I'm gonna look into that direction, add or change headphone cable or something like that.

Finally redirected the CD_in-motherboard-connection to the rear of my SB62G2. I removed the SUB-D 25 connector plate, mounted a plastic U-shape profile on the inside, made two 6.5mm holes in this profile, fixed two standard audio sockets in these holes and soldered an audio cable. Windows media player uses IDE to play audio cd's, so the analog cable is no longer used for my CD-player. In this way I created my own "line-in" at the rear of the SB62G2. Using the realtek soundmanager software I can adjust the CD_in recording level. It is a workaround but works great. Just a bit stupid that shuttle does not provide a line in on this model.
