    Had 2 maxtor 40gb's in raid 0 with sata dongles working flawlessly for 3 and a half years. Infact I only took them out last week as I bought a 250gb Spinpoint. Yes, they do run hot but not if they are fan cooled as they were in my chieftec case.

    I used to use Maxtors all the time but I got a few failures and random drive related issues so I use WD drives now.
