    overclocking p4 2.4b

    I am new to this overclocking thing so I thought I would post a message and ask for advice.
    My system;
    P4 2.4b 533Mhz
    Asus p4s8x-x motherboard
    2 x 256mb of pc2700 ddr ram
    Geforce fx 5200 graphics card.
    I understand the basics of overclocking but not to sure about the right way of doing it.

    Any help would be good

    Don't know about your Asus's jumper-free mode, but I do know that your 2.4b could be an excellent overclocker. It should easily do 3.0 ghz by upping the FSB to 167. If you are lucky you may have got one which can run on an FSB of 170 - 180. Mine runs stable at 172 for 3.1 ghz with a full load temperature of 50ÂșC. With extreme cooling they can go significantly higher.
