Another vote for Western Digital. Great drives, great service and who doesn't love have raptors growling away in your PC.

Samsung, Hitachi, non Chinese Seagate and WD.

Maxtor and Chinese Seagate are not much cop these days.

Everyone slates the Maxtor drives but i love em.

Quick, cheap, quiet and mine have all been 100% reliable.

Samsung make some great drives and definately the quietest drive i've used....however i've had one fail on me which makes WD top dog for me

Was Maxtor, but not had the Samsung long enough to know how reliable it is. The raptor, apart from the noise is excellent, and runs surprisingly cool, even in a Scythe Quiet Drive.

prob samsung as one of my wd caviars in raid has started making some really nasty noises as of late and from time to time just stops during boot of windows and i have to restart


although this is the first western i have ever had fail

Western Digital, I've had a Maxtor, Fijitsu, a Samsung that wont init below 10C, and a Seagate croak it on me in the past, all WD disk I've ever had still runs today afaik, plus Raptors are just the dogs testicles.
