Anyone bought a Scan Xclio case or PSU?

Yes.

It totally depends on what model the thing actually is - they're often rebadges of something else.

In my situation, I've got the 'hi-end' 480W PSU, which is actually a CWT unit identical to the Antec Trupower.

It's not got the best build quality, and it's not very quiet (electric buzz more than fan noise), but it does have very stable voltages as far as I can tell, and the multitude of connectors has proven very useful.

A couple of times I thought I had stability problems, but it turned out to be driver problems. It hapily powers the spec in my system, and copes with the most stressful testing I can throw at it without batting an eyelid.

Used X-Clio 500 550 and the 750 none of them have caused problems in customers systems. That said they can have a bit of an electric buzz, only one mind you.
Cases not the best only built one using an Xclio and it was a bit of a bu**er to build the system. Front end was a bit fragile to remove to get access to the 5.25 racks. Side 250mm fan failed after 2 months and had to rewire.

Yep the 380, couldnt remebre which model till you brought it up.

Not for the price there isn't!

The Greatpower and Goodpower units are exceptionally good for their price point and will be ok for all but high end systems.
SLI/Crossfire i would say aim high but for any single card rig they are great.

i have the xclio 750w and its great no problems at all i cant hear it its silent even when gaming .

its powering the rig in my sig with ease

i bought one with no prior knowledge of PSUs and i have been pretty happy with it. its really quiet, modular and bang for buckwise its top.

Also bought the 750w one for my bros computer and hes had also had no complaints.

some people seem to think that they are unreliable and i even seem to recall reading there are cases of sparks and fires but i dont know whether this is to be believed or not.

If you are unsure and have the money i would say go for the tagen, seasonic or corsair maybe even the hiper over the xclio but if your working on a tight budget and need a fair amount of power then its probs the best option

I built a system for a friend with a xclio stacker case and 750W PSU. 6600, 7950GX2 etc. Runs stable and no problems. I would be happy to get one for my next system.

You can get better PSUs, but they cost more. An xclio should be good enough for most uses.

X-clio 360 thing - first one with the 250mm fan on the side. Bought it to re-house my old PC for my brother.

Looks OK - nice front panel with stealth optical drives, but the rest of it is cheao tat - flimsy, poorly fitting metal. Not a patch on an equivalently priced Antec.

I think I'm persuaded to stay clear of the cases, and probably the PSUs as well. If they cut corners on the cases then they might do the same on the PSUs.

I wouldnt be so quick to dismiss the PSU's.

well thats basically a list drawn up from the side of the box of each product.

Basically it depend what you want to do with the powersupply. If you want to run a really efficiant overclocked rig then put more cash into the psu but if you just want something simple, cheap and reasonably quiet to run a fairly stock machine then they are fine
