    Angry Broken Hard Drive

    I dropped and broke my "my documents" hard drive a few weeks back so lost everything-music,pics,docs,etc,etc,drive doesn't appear in disk manager or in bios so i assume its knackered,anybody know a good data recovery company?obviously the cheaper the better!

    You realise you're gonna be spending in the hundred to get that data back from a company like that right ? Do you really need it ? Try and get your work to pay for it for you

    ..or look for some software that can help. I know a guy at work that does it for us so it must be avaliable.

    ye i know it won't be cheap but i do need it back,music doesn't matter but the docs and pics do

    SpinRite 6.0 can get a lot of 'dead' drives functioning again (sometimes only enough to retrieve data, but that's better than nothing). http://www.grc.com/default.htm (PS it's not free, $89)
