good staff but expensive
Thanks for the replies. I have an OCZ 550 PSU so that should be enough.
I thought about changing the graphics card, but to be honest until I see how well the DX10 cards perform in DX10 games, I don't see the point as these are still only first gen cards and have yet to prove them selfs in a DX10 game, although I understand they are very capable in DX9 games.
To be honest I keep going back to the processor and thinking to my self is it worth it? After reading reviews on the E4300 in Custom PC Mag and on the net, I don't think I would bother with one, as the E6300 can be had for only a few pounds more. I am however considering getting the E6300 or E6400 instead of the E6600, as the extra 2mb of cache might not be worth it, considering I mainly play games and surf the net with the odd bit of video encoding/decoding thrown in.
I haven't placed my order yet and am still open to suggestions. BTW all the parts I have listed have been sourced from Overclockers, but if you know somewhere cheaper ?
I would reconsider getting the Samsung 183 DVD Writer. It incorrectly writes the lead-in when burning DVD's.
The LiteOn LH-20A1S would probably be a good alternative.
I also have the same dilemma with the CPU. I was originally going to get an E6400 due to the higher multiplier than the E6300, which makes OC'ing easier. Then I was tempted by the E6600 since I would like to reach 3.6GHz for 24/7 usage. However, I've read that not everyone has success at 3.6GHz and I would be very disappointed if I paid the extra money for the E6600, only to find I can run at 3.6GHz 24/7.
Also, due to the imminent price cuts I am now considering an E4300 to save myself a bit of cash.
