hello,
I was looking for a retail version of Vista 64, when I came across this on Scan:

"Please note 64-Bit Edition DVD is not included in this package. Only the 32-Bit edition DVD is supplied in the box. Information on obtaining 64-Bit edition is included in this package."
What does this mean? Any details? Will I have to pay anything extra, and if so, how much?

You'll have to pay Microsoft a charge to have them ship you a 64-bit install disc. I can't remember what they charged me, but I think it's about £7.50 or thereabouts.

Not sure if there is a time limit, but I don't think so. It takes you to a website where you have to enter your 32-bit key to validate you own a copy. You then give your credit card details and they ship you a 64-bit disc. Mine hasn't yet shown up, but it does take a few weeks.Quote:

I remember hearing a year or so ago when new 64-bit CPU's from AMD etc came onto the market that the general view was that you wouldn't see the full capabilities of these CPU's until a 64-bit version of Windows became available.
