Need a new PC today for my sister (that means PCWorld)

    Hi there,

    I have a budget of MAX £600

Im looking to spent £300-500 on a PC or laptop for my sister.

She mainly uses it for homework and msn, also listening to music.

These are some I picked out.

    Thanks.

EDIT- Also I have a spare monitor, so a base unit is good too.

Do you really need it today ?

And tbh those choices are a bit 'hardcore' for just homework, msn and music.

    This - http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/123118

    Or This - http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/123119

Would be perfect for what you want. But if you need it today...
    Main - Intel Core i5 2300 @ 3.5GHz, 8GB DDR3 1333Mhz RAM, Asus P8P67 Pro, Coolermaster iGreen 600w, GTX 480, Antec One Case

I can't believe you are going to spend £500 on a system from PC World, even if it is for your sister.

I would go for the Laptop. If she is anything like my daughter the mobility of the laptop is a great benefit.
I assume your wireless at home?
Out of the 2 laptops youv'e picked the Acer would get my vote. Mate of mine sells Acer laptops and swears by them.
The dedicated graphics on the Acer helps as well, only negative comment is that the DVD writer is only 8 speed, but that is only a minor niggle.

i think he's gone to do the deed lol..

i'd drive to ocuk, savastore, scan..somewhere..and build one!!

Be about £300 for a basic system.. could even squeeze an amd x2 into that if you wanted to.

Take you what? ..an hour or two to build and install xp. Don't waste money on worthless pc's from pc world.

    Whats the urgent need?

Hell i'd drive to end of the world, rather than use them, must have a real downer on sister.

Will be struggling to find anything on sale there that won't be at least 20% cheaper any where else. only thing that's a decent £ is carpark(selected branches only)

Pc world is evil, PURE EVIL i tell ye

I wouldnt touch an advent (i actually wouldnt, its dangerous) but go for the acer if you must - if you have a large tescos/ tescos extra near by then they also stock acer laptops
