Worth it to pay the extra for a ACS3 cooled 8800GTX?

Do you think it would be worth to shell out extra for either of the following two cards:

What do you guys think about the cooler? Is it really any quieter?

What do you think about paying extra for an overclocked version (maybe 5-10FPS extra, according to reviews, in games)?

By the way, when I say extra, I mean over this card:

So it's either the Asus, or either of the two EVGA's. :)

I would say, just get the cheapest GTX. There really is nothing that you can chuck at it at the moment that it will struggle with, and the extra few mhz on the overclocked cards isnt worth the 90-100 quid price bump.

You can pick an 8800GTX up for £327 now, from novatech, if they are back in stock, next cheapest is ebuyer £350.

Scan have one on today only for £336 as well.

There are currently some games (like FSX) that the 8800GTX can struggle with. :)

Bearing this in mind, do you guys think that it would be worth it to go for the OC version, or if not, do you think it would be worth it for the new cooler?

When you say it struggles with FSX, what resolution are you talking about? over 1680x1050?

Personally, I think overclocked cards arent worth the money :)

Clunk is right, get the cheapest.:)

Get the standard and overclock it yourself, can't be that hard.

Are you sure its the card that's struggling?

From the testing I have been doing, I've found that my system is actually CPU-limited since installing the 8800GTX. Each time I push my CPU a bit harder, I get a noticeable increase in framerate.....and that's mainly at 2560x1600 resolution.

I do not have FSX (nor know what it is :mrgreen: ) to test that particular game though.

I don't really want to purchase a cooler like that, I would prefer an exhaust system. :)
