    Best OC guides for noob - E6600 + P5B Deluxe ?

I will begin OC'ing soon on a new build and am hoping to get 3.6GHz for 24/7 usage with a C2D E6600 (if I finally decide on this one ) and a P5B Deluxe/WIFI.

I have googled a bit and found some info, but some of the advice varies. What are considered the best OC'ing guides for C2D ?

Got one nearly done...just need someone to run over the wording, and I'll get some bios shots done and hopefully it should be ok.

PM me and Ill send you a rough copy.

Read on another forum that the latest C2D chips aren't as good overclockers as the early release so don't aim too high.

I'd be interested in your guide too Clunk

best advice..dont aim for 3.6GHz lol.

    E6600 vary quite a bit..some will hit that..some wont.

obviously dont rush straight into any high clocks..run a stability test (orthos is what most people here will use) with it stock first. Use core temp or TAT to measure your temperatures.

Then if its stable gently raise the FSB..monitoring temps after each clock. Run a quick stability test (10 minutes will do) to check the temperatures. If they're ok..move on etc..

When your happy with your overall speed..run the stability test for an extended period of time. If its unstable then lower them or raise the volts to your processor.

Its a slow process to do it properly but its worth it. First time overclocker on My System <<

Seriously though dont get your hopes up for 3.6GHz unless you're water cooling.
