I'm a great believer in a high fsb, I would tend to go for a faster stick than one with a greater capacity.
Saying that, I would have 1gig in a second. Of course, I would waste ridiculous amounts of my hard earned cash on corsair :p
Planetside is the only game i have bought that runs terribly on 512, reasonably on 768, but only runs properly on 1024MB of ram.
Tab out mid game and goto task manager, and the game never uses less than 500mb of memory.
It is a bloated game mind, needs a fast CPU and good GFX card and broadband too else its useless.
Ive got broadband and upgraded my PC just to keep playing it :D

Not sure what you mean. If the game never uses more than 500mb of memory, then why would it run better with a gig of RAM over 512mb?
I have found that alot of new games will happily use up to 700megs of RAM, even the RTS 'Empires dawn of the modern world' uses about 650 on my comp.
Most Operating systems use a good 100mb to run, if not more, not to mention all the other stuff people tend to run in the background, IRC,MSN,Teamspeak and whatever else, it all uses ram, and if it never goes UNDER 500mb, chances are it goes over 600mb + Op. system is a good 700-750mb etc etc :)Quote:

Ah yes, so it does. Appologies.
I used to think I was Ok on 512mb of Crucial DDR400, looks like I'll get another stick of it now! ;)
IL2 deffo feels better with more RAM - and because I'm running a gig, the RAM seems to take up some of the slack in the gfx and cpu dept so I can have my eye candy :D which is nice
I like to play 2 games at a time, dual moniters. with my 2 mouses on one computer, I'm ambidextrious and split brained. ANd 1Gb of ram helps there. :)
