Need a new mouse. MX Revolution seems obvious...Advise please.

My logitech mx700 has just hit it's fourth birthday, and has started to play up. The left mouse button sometimes double clicks when I single click, and dragging to select things often fails.
It has had a good life, but I am in the market for a nice new mouse.

The MX revolution seems the obvious choice, as I have been very happy with the mx 700, and it is the newest update to the series.

    Are there other worthy options?

I want wireless, comfy hand shape, good responsiveness, forward and back thumb buttons if poss. And the usual other things.

Used for gaming and general other stuff like photoshop and word.

Never had a problem with gaming with my mx700. I've done well at the lans I've been to, and repeatedly fragged a friend who was ranked something like 80th nationally at UT2004, so he wasn't bad.

And anyway, I'm doing mostly single player stuff, so as long as the responsiveness is as good as the mx700, I'll be fine. Incidently, the wireless mx700 was more responsive and accurate for gaming than my previous 2 wired mice.

I've moved from an MX1000 to an MX Revolution, and to be honest, it's awesome. Simple as. Worth the premium for the funkeh scroll-wheel alone.

I did the same, and frankly the rev was dissapointing at first. Its better now, but I still prefer the mx1000.

Mainly as the battery life on the rev is a joke, as are the drivers.

Interesting - I found the MX1000's battery life particularly disappointing. My Revo isn't all that much better, but at least I have the option of turning it off at night.

//edit.... erm, oops - I lied - I had the MX900 which came with the DiNovo Media Desktop 2.0. I'll go bury my head in the sand about now.

I've heard good things about the G7.

from my research thats the wireless mouse I'd get. even though the battery only lasts 7 hours, but it comes with 2 and apparently easily swappable so that makes up for it a bit.

If you can handle wires, the Logitech MX518 is your rodent of choice. Otherwise, I'd be looking at the G7. But I am a bit of a Logitech fanboy when it comes to mice, not found any others that fit my hand as well as they do.

g7 is a great mouse i have said it time and time again, partly due to the constant repost of this topic but hey..

adma1701 when you say you have been through two wireless mice, im assuming they were fisher price jobs because a g7 for instance is of great quality and will last years. As mine did and now hopefully a fellow hexus user will find.
Re: battery issue, yes it comes with two so when one runs out you ca put the other in takes about ten seconds, and they only take about 3 hours to charge so it works v weell indeed.

If you dont need wireless then the 518 and g5 are also great bits of kit. I now use a g5,
